Wojtyla (future Pope John Paul II) in 1961:

explode. I cannot reject it; I would be rejecting
myself."
From Bob Dylan's 1978 song, Where Are You
Tonight (Journey Through Dark Heat), these
lines:
The truth was obscure, too
profound and too pure, to live it you have to
explode.
In that last hour of need, we entirely agreed,
sacrifice was the code of the road.
