Keyes to the race ...3:14 pm
Via Hot Air: Alan Keyes is throwing his hat into the ring in the contest for the Republican presidential nomination, and will participate in the latest debate on Monday.
Nuts. What could possibly qualify him to be president? All he’s ever done is lose a U.S. Senate race in Illinois!
Oh, that’s right.
Well, I loved Alan Keyes during the primaries for the 2000 presidential election, but these TV debates are apparently going from unwieldy to simply unbelievable.
…
Addendum: Actually, the debate situation is not exactly as it seemed. Monday’s debate, sponsored by ValuesVoters.org, will feature Alan Keyes, Sam Brownback, Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter, Ron Paul, Tom Tancredo and John Cox, but the opportunity to participate was apparently declined by Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson. So, this particular debate is more of a pool for the little fishes to play in.
