All is well: on Tuesday night, there was violence in only 116 areas in France, with only 617 cars set ablaze. This morning, news that “youths clashed with police in the southern city of Toulouse,” and only 394 vehicles were incinerated, according to the official count.
I guess it doesn’t have to come down much lower to reach the point of “business-as-usual;” that is, a tolerable level of gang-rule, burning cars, and seething hatred.
