Another side of Bob and more!

More frailer than the flowers, these precious hours
That keep us so tightly bound
You come to my eyes like a vision from the skies
And I'll be with you when the deal goes down

World Gone Wrong ...7:22 pm

That’s the subject line of an e-mail RWB received from “FX,” a reader in France (yes, not only are there French Bob Dylan fans, there are conservative French Bob Dylan fans). His comments on what’s going on there, and in particular on how the government and the French mainstream media are reacting to it, are worth reading and speak for themselves:

Well, what can I say ? These riots are the premises of the future European civil war that will destroy our continent.

We ain´t seen nothing yet ! That´s for sure…

A lot of people have been pulling the alarm for years, but no one cared … Or I should say, that the people who are supposed to defend us are already too scared to go in the right direction and try to make up for their crazy mistakes. How could they ?

They made a deal with the devil (Arab countries) more than 30 years ago, now they are getting their first “rewards’. Unfortunately, the rewards the devil gives are lethal ones…

There is no turning back as Bob would sing in Foot of Pride.

What has been going on is extremely dangerous but everything is done so that the people do not realise what is happening.

The way our government and the press have presented the facts is once again done the complete way around: basically, if such riots happen it is because we are both selfish and racists and because we have not done enough for the poor youths in our ghettos in order to integrate them! No you are not dreaming! This is exactly what is being told night after night in the evening news.

Sarcozy may have said one or two things that look like he is being strong, but believe me, these are just words.

Try to imagine the following: the police have been dealing with the worst riots France has ever known. They work hard, but they are told by the same Sarcozy, not to provoke the youths (the official name for the rioters. Don´t say they are Muslims!!!) : This means that they can hardly defend themselves, when on the other side; some “youths’ have used genuine guns to fire at them. Eight policemen were put on hold because they arrested in a “strong way’ one rioter who, of course, was acting like the beast he is. One of them is in jail. Yes one of the policemen !!!! Crazy, ain´t it ?!?

During the assaults two churches and one synagogue were attacked with Molotov cocktails: it is just like nobody noticed anything. Yesterday, the same thing was done by (I presume, angry people) to a mosque,  and we heard the President, the prime minister…and Sarcozy each calling out loud that it was unbearable that such event should take place and that the people responsible will be purchased and punished !

What can you say ? What else can you do but pity these people.

Now what is interesting is the next step : our government has invited 15 of the Muslim rioters…Oops ! Chances for la France (this is the other official name!) at l’Elisée the other day… The same day our beloved poet (the one who tried to save the world before GWB invaded Iraq) prime minister De Villepin received the official represent of Islamic
instances of France !

You know what ?

Not only the Chances for la France are gonna get LOADS of money, but also the promise that the police will stay out of their territories (which has been the case for years now).

We should be FULL of joy because Islam is a religion of peace, love and tolerance. Yes it is !!!! This is what our press and political leaders tell us everyday ! We should be very glad that soon France (and after, Europe)
will be under Sharia law. Everybody knows it is a FANTASTIC law, isn’t it ?

Well, not a lot of optimism there from FX.

From Agence France Presse, some interesting figures:

According to figures compiled before the riots by the police intelligence service RG, some 28,000 cars were burned in the first 10 months of the year — making an average of 650 a week, most of which were destroyed at weekends.

That’s before the riots, understand?.

“More than 8,000″ cars have been burned since the riots began.

I liked William F. Buckley today in his attempted analysis of the logical purpose of protests past and present:

In 1959, the objective was pretty plain: the secession of Algeria as a department of France. A hundred and seventy years before, the objective was the overthrow of the monarchy and of a ruling aristocratic class. What would satisfy the existing revolutionaries as a corporate ideal? The elimination of the automobile? If so, it being obvious that that is never going to happen, then the contrapositive needs to be considered: the revolution will be endless. That is formal logic.
