He was a “Friend” of Mine ...10:36 am
In response to those wondering, the Amazon ad in the right sidebar displaying a list of musical offerings (more often than not including the soundtrack for “Brokeback Mountain”) is automatically generated. It is supposed to display things found under Amazon>>Music by searching for “Bob Dylan.” The only possible reason that “Brokeback Mountain” is showing up must be the version of He was a Friend of Mine performed by Willie Nelson which appears on that soundtrack. I guess the song’s composition is credited to Dylan. It’s actually a traditional song, arranged by Dylan for the peformance that appears on the Bootleg Series Vols 1-3. I guess that Willie is using Dylan’s arrangement on his version. I haven’t heard it, and I haven’t seen the film.
And that’s the end of that.
