U.S. Senator and former Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said on Thursday that Iran was making a dangerous choice in pushing ahead with its nuclear ambitions.

“Iran has made a dangerous and silly decision of confronting not just the U.S. government but the entire international community,” Kerry told reporters in the southern Indian technology hub of Hyderabad during a visit to India.

Read: “How can the Iranian regime be so dumb as not to realize that the way to go is ‘divide and conquer’? Oppose and confront the U.S. war mongers, sure, but keep throwing the Europeans enough worthless bones to pacify them. Then, the U.S. appears to be the unreasonable one. I, Senator John F. Kerry, would be glad to help them with this strategy, in the same way as I’ve been providing able assistance to the Iraqi insurgents. By the way, did you know I was in Vietnam?”

Of-course the Iranians have been playing just that game for years, and it’s by no means clear that they won’t continue to play it, albeit that the current regime seems less facile with the poker face.
