That thou wouldst rend the heavens ...1:48 pm
Maybe some who attended a Christian church service today would have heard the reading from Isaiah, chapter 64, beginning:
O that thou wouldst rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at thy presence — as when fire kindles brushwood and the fire causes water to boil — to make thy name known to thy adversaries, and that nations might tremble at thy presence!
From Bob Dylan’s final gig of his latest tour, in New York City, here’s a clip (12.2 MB) of Thunder On The Mountain, with which Bob and the band concluded the main set. My favorite part is the extended instrumental break, including some red-hot organ playing from the bandleader.
