Threats don’t get much more explicit than this, published in the Tehran Times:

The terrorist attacks on the London underground that left 56 innocent people dead during last year’s G8 summit in Britain should be fresh in the memory of Mr. Bush and his friends. Unfortunately, this year more tragic events are taking place committed by one state against another. So, the situation is worse than last year, especially after Bush dashed all hopes that a united stance could emerge from the G8 summit to bring an end to this situation.

The escalation of aggression since last year could be met with more deadly reciprocation by the terrorists. Thus, Western countries must definitely revise their strategies.

By continuing such unthoughtful, uncaring, bullying, and merciless policies, the United States will become more and more hated in the eyes of the world, a situation that will be difficult to remedy and could result in harm to U.S. citizens who have no role in such policies.

And meanwhile, Iranian President Ahmadinejad says that Muslims will be “rejoicing” soon.

Speaking to university officials in the town of Mashhad, Ahmadinejad said the “volcano of rage” at the “arrogant powers” was “on the verge of eruption.”

Referring to escalating violence in Lebanon and northern Israel, he was quoted as saying, “The Zionists themselves have realized that they have launched a risky move and are aware that the flame of the fury of the regional states will set them ablaze.”

Addendum: Ahmadinejad also quoted thusly:

“The day of happiness for the region is near… The world is on the verge of great changes,” according to the Iranian news agency.

Ahmadinejad added that he considered Israel’s operation in Lebanon “a type of playing with fire.”
