The actor Michael Douglas has been given a “Life Achievement Award” by the American Film Institute. He received the award this past June 11th, at a gala tribute in Los Angeles. Bob Dylan made an appearance, and apparently performed his song Things Have Changed, which of-course was featured in a film called Wonder Boys in which Michael Douglas starred. (Those who’ve seen the clip of Dylan performing that song when he won the Academy Award for it may remember the shot of Michael Douglas and his charming wife applauding with some enthusiasm.)

A recording of the gala event will be broadcast on TV Land Prime tomorrow (June 19th) July 19th. Yours Truly doesn’t receive that station — due to the many layers of concrete, steel and lead here at the RWB bunker — so I have to hope it’s made available online in some form.

There are a whole bunch of photos available online of Dylan’s performance at this link, and some of them are really good. (H/t Dreamtime.) We don’t normally see professionally-taken photos of Dylan in concert these days, due to the rules Bob enforces, so these are a rare treat. Dylan appeared with his band and played geetar.
