Considering the amazing coverage it received, I guess everyone is aware of the incident about a week ago in a television interview when President Barack Obama swatted a fly on camera. (You may not know that the White House has actually been infested with flies.)

Anyhow, thanks much to reader Jay for sending in this prophetic Dylan reference which had somehow escaped me:

Well, John the Baptist after torturing a thief
Looks up at his hero the Commander-in-Chief
Saying, “Tell me great hero, but please make it brief
Is there a hole for me to get sick in?”

The Commander-in-Chief answers him while chasing a fly
Saying, “Death to all those who would whimper and cry”
And dropping a bar bell he points to the sky
Saving, “The sun’s not yellow it’s chicken”

These words are as true today as when Dylan first sang “Tombstone Blues” in 19 and 65.
