Love Henry ...8:56 am
The New York Times today has an article on the resemblance between about 6 to 10 of the lines and phrases in the songs on Dylan’s new album Modern Times and lines and phrases which appear in the poetry of Henry Timrod (1828-1867).
Google sure has a lot to answer for.
Scott Warmuth, a disc jockey in New Mexico who used the aforementioned search engine to ferret out the Timrod source, also says what to my mind should probably be the last word on this kind of thing:
“You could give the collected works of Henry Timrod to a bunch of people, but none of them are going to come up with Bob Dylan songs,” he said.
