Standing up at the United Nations ...10:22 pm
Today there was a rally near the U.N. in New York City, with the theme of “Stand for Freedom in Iran.” RWB contributed to increasing the turnout (which seemed very strong to me) by the precise amount of one person and a fourteen-pound mixed terrier. In addition to standing for freedom in Iran, the overwhelming message of the rally and those who spoke at it (including Elie Wiesel and Governor David Patterson) was “No nuclear Iran.” To what extent that is the mind-set at the White House these days is another question.
In other U.N.-related happenings today, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a heckuva speech.
