Happy 234th birthday to the Marines ...5:28 pm
And there’s no better way to mark it, around here, than with this clip of Bob Dylan and his band opening a show from October 30th, 1990, in Boone, North Carolina with an instrumental working of the Marines’ Hymn (this was not a one-off thing, but performed on seventeen separate occasions).
From the Halls of Montezuma
To the shores of Tripoli,
We will fight out country’s battles
In the air, on land and sea.
First to fight for right and freedom
And to keep our honor clean.
We are proud to claim the title
Of United States Marine.
