Van Morrison not a happy new dad after all ...10:44 am
Someone apparently has it in for Van Morrison. The report on his website the other day regarding him having a baby with a woman not his wife, picked up by news organizations around the world and even repeated by the unfailingly reliable RWB, was false. In a statement to RTE News in Ireland, Van says:
I have asked my Management Team to carry out an immediate investigation into a hacking attack, which took place on my website on December 29th last. This is the second occasion on which the website has been hacked into during the last three months.
In this most recent incident, claims were made relating to my personal life in a ’statement’ purporting to come from me. Once these claims were brought to our attention, they were taken down from the site but not before news organisations repeated these falsehoods. The comments which appeared on my website did not come from me. They are completely and utterly without foundation.
For the avoidance of all doubt and in the interests of clarity, I am very happily married to Michelle Morrison with whom I have two wonderful childrenVan Morrison

The hacked message on his website said that his “manager,” named “Gigi Lee,” had given birth to a son, George Ivan Morrison III. It seemed very odd that the ultra-private Morrison was announcing such a thing on his website, but I guess the world gave it a pass, thinking it was due to the unrestrained enthusiasm of the new dad.
Someone not only has it in for Van, but was devilishly creative in finding a way to get under his skin.
Well, considering how many songs we’ve heard from Van inspired by how he was once ripped off by those “big time operators” in the music biz about a hundred years ago, I think that we can expect many huge double concept albums about this website hacking. Still, Morrison at his best has a way of a way of turning even such lead into gold.
I think I know what tune is Van is singing right now.
Well I get up in the morning and I get my brief
I go out and stare at the world in complete disbelief
It’s not righteous indignation that makes me complain
It’s the fact that I always have to explain
Why, why must I always explain
Over and over, over again
It’s just a job you know and it’s no sweet lorraine
Tell me why must I always explain
