Congratulations ...9:45 am
Bob Dylan won “Artist of the Year” in the 2006 Rolling Stone readers’ poll, as reported here in the Post Chronicle (it’s not on the RS website yet). This is arguably more heartwarming than the end-of-the-year critical accolades he’s been racking up. It is certainly a measure of just how amazingly huge Dylan has been in the past year, along with the number one spot on the Billboard chart that Modern Times achieved. (And some people thought he’d retire at 65; an age he reached, of-course, last May.)
He was also the runner-up in the same readers’ poll in the categories of Best Male Performer, Best Single (Someday Baby), and Best Album.
I don’t know if they have a “Best DJ” category.
