A thousand words? ...1:34 pm
I don’t really share the fascination regarding this, but there are a plethora of stories in the press today about the re-creation of an “iconic photograph” taken of Bob Dylan in 1966. The original photo was of Dylan on the stoop of a doorway in Liverpool, England, surrounded by some semi-Dickensian tots. It’s a funny juxtaposition, no question, with Dylan sporting his ultra-cool mid-sixties fashion look (still inspiring trends today). The “re-creation” features eight of the original kids, now forty years older, on the same stoop. No — Dylan ain’t there.
The two pictures are displayed in an article at this link.
Now, if they had gotten Dylan, in his current full hopped-up-country-gentleman regalia, to stand in that doorway with these completely ordinary looking folk, that would have been something to see.
