When You Gonna Wake Up is a song from 1979’s Slow Train Coming which Dylan has rarely performed live in what we’d call his “post-gospel” period. This would be one of the few occasions: in Poughkeepsie, New York, in 1989, with Bob himself pounding the ivories in his blunt and charming fashion.
