Slow Train Chuggin’ ...9:47 am
Bob Dylan’s love of trains and train imagery is such that he had to devote two of his XM Satellite Radio shows to the theme. His own work has obviously featured trains at every turn. And one of the most notable turns was Slow Train Coming. Amplifying the lyrical image is the rhythm of the tune itself, which evokes a train steadily and inexorably coming down the track; never more so than in this live version from West Germany in 1981.
