What is truth? ...7:52 pm
The varying perspectives on the recent Pew Research Center poll of U.S. Muslims are certainly interesting, and indicative of the drastically different ways in which facts are interpreted, depending on — what? — ideology? insight? maturity? prejudice?
Even the reasons why facts are interpreted in varying ways can themselves be perceived in different ways.
This is a snapshot of Google News headlines regarding the Pew poll of American Muslims:

So, either the poll reveals that Muslims in the U.S.A. are assimilated, moderate and happy, or else the poll reveals the deeply disturbing news that a quarter of American Muslims under the age of thirty believe suicide bombings are a good idea.
I guess it depends on whether the interpreter finds that last fact truly disturbing, or whether the interpreter believes that kind of attitude is perfectly understandable. And that’s quite a dividing line.
